Desiree Fredericks, CPO is an American Board-Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) and part of our clinical team here at Macy O&P. Her previous education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Hartford. During her graduate courses, she participated in research for pediatric cerebral palsy, and became a teaching assistant for lower limb orthotics.
In 2018, Desiree traveled to the West Coast to complete her O&P Residency in Seattle Washington. She gained knowledge in a diverse range of pathologies and educated in advanced limb salvage orthotics at a specialized clinic. She returned to her hometown in Connecticut in 2021 to be closer to family. You can find her advancing in CAD/CAM techniques with amputees and holding clinics at local wound care centers. She focuses on prosthetics, and adult orthotics, with a specialty in neurological pathologies. She is passionate about helping individuals gain their independence back and keep people moving.
